The following briefly explains how PRP treatment

Blood Collection & Separation
First, a small sample of blood is drawn from the patient. It's then spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. This plasma is rich in growth factors and cytokines, which are believed to potentially play a role in tissue maintenance processes.

The separated PRP is then injected directly into the area being treated. The growth factors it contains may act on that specific site, potentially providing supplementary support for tissue maintenance processes there.
