【Treatment Overview】
This treatment delivers high-dose (25g) Vitamin C via intravenous infusion using Ascorbic Acid Injection manufactured by Mylan (Canadian DIN: 02245214), intended to provide supplementary support for aesthetic care, antioxidant function, and immune health. This is an elective, self-pay treatment, and a G6PD test is required prior to the procedure.
【Treatment Duration & Frequency】
Recommended approximately 1 to 2 times per month, with each session taking around 1 to 2 hours.
【Key Risks & Side Effects】
Patients with G6PD (Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase) deficiency may be at risk of hemolytic anemia if administered high-dose Vitamin C, which is why a G6PD test is conducted prior to treatment. In rare cases, allergic reactions or pain at the injection site may occur.
※Regarding the Vitamin C Injection Formula (Ascorbic Acid Injection, USP)① The Ascorbic Acid Injection, USP used in this treatment is an unapproved drug that has not received approval under Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act.
② This formulation is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals ULC in Canada and is obtained by our physicians through personal import (for reference, see the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's guidance for individuals purchasing pharmaceutical products from overseas).
③ While approved pharmaceutical products containing ascorbic acid as an active ingredient do exist in Japan, none have been approved with the same formulation, specification, and method of use as the Ascorbic Acid Injection, USP used in this treatment.
