About
Placenta Injection
Placenta extract is derived from the placenta, the tissue that supports the essential processes of fetal growth and development. It is believed to contain proteins, amino acids, growth factors, vitamins, and minerals, and is used in the context of aesthetic care and general health maintenance. At Ginza YR Clinic, we offer injection therapy using Curacen (キュラセン), a placenta-based pharmaceutical product approved by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

Treatment overview
Placenta Injection
【Treatment Overview】
This treatment involves injecting human placental extract (Laennec), believed to potentially provide supplementary support for aesthetic care, relief of menopausal symptoms, and recovery from fatigue. The formula is rich in proteins, amino acids, collagen, and growth factors.
【Treatment Duration & Frequency】
Recommended approximately 1 to 2 times per month, with each session taking around 15 to 30 minutes.
【Downtime】
Minimal to none.
※Washing the face and applying makeup are both possible on the day of treatment, though care should be taken to avoid rubbing the injected areas.
【Key Risks & Side Effects】
Temporary bruising or pain may occur at the injection site. As this formula is derived from biological source material, the possibility of infection from currently unknown pathogens cannot be entirely ruled out. Following this treatment, patients will no longer be eligible to donate blood.
※Regarding Laennec (Human Placental Extract)
① Laennec is approved in Japan for the indication of "improving liver function in chronic liver disease." However, its use at our clinic for aesthetic care and general wellness purposes has not received approval under Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act.
② Our clinic obtains this approved pharmaceutical product through licensed domestic pharmaceutical wholesalers and administers it under the professional judgment of our physicians.
③ While approved pharmaceutical products containing human placental extract as an active ingredient do exist in Japan, the approved indications, usage, and dosage differ from the purpose and method of use applied at our clinic.
④ Injectable formulations containing human placental extract undergo heat treatment and other measures during manufacturing as a precaution against infection; however, because the raw material is derived from human tissue, the risk of infection transmission cannot be entirely ruled out. Additionally, because the theoretical risk of vCJD (variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) transmission cannot be completely excluded, individuals who have received injections containing human placental extract are no longer eligible to donate blood. Injection site reactions may include pain, redness, swelling, bruising, rash, fever, itching, and allergic reactions.
⑤ In the rare event of a serious adverse reaction, depending on the purpose and method of use, this treatment may not be eligible for compensation under Japan's national Relief System for Adverse Drug Reactions.
